Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Before the weekend begins, check out a quick rundown of the top five Racked stories of the past five days.

1) Soho: After a few hiccups, Madewell finally opened. There were a lot of scarves and much denim.

2) Meatpacking District: Helmut Lang's plans for MePa were revealed! We're talking about a High Line Park-adjacent store, here.

3) Midtown West: We peeked inside the soon-to-open Muji flagship. And it was glorious.

4) Upper East Side: Dylan's Candy Bar peeled back the plywood on its new expansion. The interior's...a work-in-progress.

5) Greenwich Village: A Starbucks bit the dust. Guess there's a first time for everything.
