Liquidation sales complete, the Yellow Rat Bastard on Broadway in Soho has shuttered for good. Now, behind windows obscured by a coat of white paint, work has begun on the 40,000-square-foot, tri-level Topshop flagship slated to open in the space in September. Next door, at 514 Broadway, teen clothing and sneaker store Active Warehouse stands empty, with paper in the window announcing their closure after 16 years of business. Per Racked sources, we hear that Topshop's new neighbor will be Marciano, Guess' more-pricey spin off. Is Broadway hot, or is Broadway hot? Wait, don't answer that.
