We've uncovered two golden nuggets of shopping news this morning, both buried at the end of Post writer Steve Cuozzo's column. The first concerns the Express store on Lexington Ave and 58th Street. The scoop: "With the Express lease at the corner expiring recently, Limited Brands wanted to keep the 20,000 square-foot space on three levels for a new Victoria's Secret store. So it has signed a new, 15-year lease with a five-year extension option..." The new, massive Vicki's Secret, which will "serve as the prototype outlet in which to launch new upmarket product lines," is slated to open in September.
But that's not all: Cuozzo drops the bomb that a lease may be out for the Union Square Virgin Megastore. We were hoping that Topshop would take the space, but the interested party appears to be athletic-wear company Nike. The rent is an insane $25 mil per year.
