Rackage is a look inside recently-opened stores around town. Today, let's check out the newly-reopened Oak boutique in Park Slope.
It's surprising that the folks behind hip boutique chainlet Oak didn't decide earlier to turn their tiny President Street outlet into an accessories-only shop. The Park Slope store, which reopened a few weeks back after a quick revamp, has shed racks of avant-garde clothing for a well-edited selection of footwear, bags, hats, scarves and toiletries for men and women, and the result is a fabulous destination for little extras. On the women's side, we spotted Penny Loves Kenny jazz shoes in gold, white and black; Frye booties in ecru and black and Anna Corinna bags. On the men's, there were a few pairs of Toms, some Frye boots and Civil War caps. All in all, a nice dose of hip for a neighborhood sorely in need of some.
