Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
It's the first day of Fashion Week, and we've braved the cold and the pouring rain to bring you coverage of what's going on at Bryant Park. We're currently ensconced in the (slightly chilly) press lounge, which is nicely equipped with a coffee machine and a television with a feed of the shows. Just finished is charity event The Heart Truth's Red Dress collection, wherein celebrities don ruby frocks and strut down the runway to raise money for heart disease awareness. First lady Laura Bush kicked the thing off, and icon Liza Minnelli ended the show with a somewhat rousing performance. Fabulous! We'll be here all day, so stay tuned for much, much more.
