UPPER WEST SIDE—Months ago we heard Spanish designer Custo Barcelona was opening a store at Columbus Avenue and 71st Street, but it looks like that dream has been dashed. Writes a tipster: "Yesterday a sign was up on the wall of the store advertising the space for rent. (The sign is on top of the Custo graphics announcing the store is coming soon.) Sign of the times; after 6 months, I guess they gave up." [Racked Inbox]
EVERYWHERE—Menswear news guide DNR has mutated into a branch of Women's Wear Daily and given the grammatically confusing new name WWDMen's. The new hybrid will launch December 15th with an issue of national import: President-elect Barack Obama's personal fashion choices. After that, expect daily men's fashion coverage on WWD.com.
