This is interesting: Massive global corporation Procter & Gamble, the company responsible for many of the cleaning and personal care products you see on shelves at stores like Duane Reade and CVS, has opened a pop-up shop at 101 West 57th Street. The P&G brandSAVER Live pop-up (name just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?), which will be open daily through December 11th, will "showcase new product performance innovation while shoppers enjoy live demonstrations, free consultations with experts and product samples" from brands like Olay, Pantene Pro-V, CoverGirl, Tide, Bounty, Dawn and Duracell. They'll also be handing out coupons and giving tips on staying within your budget.
It all feels very appropriate, given our current economic climate. Will clipping coupons be the new craze in 2009, along with the return of the root cellar? The future looks...grandma-ish.
