MIDTOWN—Explain: How does a four-hour-long Pepsi giveaway at the Good Morning America studio in Times Square qualify as a pop-up shop? Because that's what the soda brand is calling this marketing stunt they're pulling on New Year's Eve from noon to 4pm. From an email that landed in the Racked Inbox: "There'll be free Pepsi tastings, photo opps, swag and additional giveaways. Photos can be picked up at refresheverything.com and optional video confessions on What’s your New Year’s refresh? may be broadcasted on the Good Morning electronic board at select times throughout the day.
