A reader's just sent word that the Staerk sale, which was marketed as a weekend-only event, is still going on in Nolita. Her report: "I was just visiting the Staerk boutique at 182 Mulberry. In addition to some serious discounts for F/W 2008 (up to 60%), I was invited to go into the back room where there were a dozen racks of items from previous seasons at very good prices. I picked up two summer jackets for $30 a piece, and a cute cotton dress for $75. Leather dress shoes were marked down to $50, and the staff seemed eager to help and thus pare back some of their lingering inventory. They asked me how I knew about the sample sale, and I had to confess that I didn't....That I just happened to be in the neighborhood. BTW - Staerk's leather items are particularly good (and well priced, now that they've been discounted) and worth exploring if you like the leath-uhh." [Racked Inbox]
