WEST VILLAGE—A very excited tipster writes in to point us to his own post on Chowhound: "Well, this is all I wanted for Christmas. Signs have appeared on the windows of the recently languishing Jefferson Market, saying...COMING SOON -NEWLY RENOVATED JEFFERSON MARKET. I can barely contain myself. No more being elbowed by trustafarians at Citarella. Roasted chickens that actually have taste. Most of all, it warms my heart that the model staff that once worked the place will be back. Perhaps I'm assuming too much, but one can hope. I saw some guys in the front window and I gave them a big smile and a thumbs up. They thought I was nuts. So be it, we old Villagers have already lost our park. At least let us keep JM!" [Racked Inbox]
PARK SLOPE—Today's in-store holiday party is brought to you by the good people at Urban Alchemist. The event is actually tomorrow, Friday, from 7pm to 10pm at their store at 343 Fifth Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Jewelry, housewares, art and clothing by local artisans is 50% off, and there will be a naughty Santa, which is something you don't see every day. [Racked Inbox]
