One tipster just got back from the Original Penguin sample sale, and he's highly ambivalent: "The deals are out of this world if you are willing to rummage through a garbage dump of a sample sale. Crammed in one small room is a supposed men's and women's section and one mirror on the back of the entrance door (secret) so you are basically left guesstimating if an item fits or not. Unfortunately there is no organization, just piles of merch on about three tables. The rest are in boxes (or on the floor) and on a few racks and most of the clothes are still in plastic (good thing). There was not much choice in sizes. Loads of men's Medium merchandise including tees, polos, some woven button downs, some knits, bottoms (skipped) and light outerwear and swimwear too." There's a bright side, though: "But prices were more than reasonable: Polos $10 (buy two, get one free), tees $5 (same deal), wovens $10 (same deal), light outerwear $15, knits $15. Nothing is more than $15. Important note: Cash only." [RackedWire; Dealfeed]
