This December, Expect Constant Sample Sales

If it seems like sample sales are suddenly coming fast and furious, that's because it's true. According to Crain's, "Metropolitan Pavilion, an event space in Chelsea, has seen a 35% increase in sample sale bookings this year. Many of the reservations for sale space are from designers who have never before booked with the firm, such as Dolce & Gabbana, Sergio Rossi and YSL." And we're only going to see more of them in the coming months. “There will be an explosion in December," says sample sale maven Elysa Lazar.

The public's reaction? Um, positive. Lucky Shops has already sold twice as many tickets as they did last year, which means tomorrow and Saturday are going to be a shitshow. It also means we're going to be doing a lot of investigative shopping in the next two months.
