H&M is going in a new direction with its next designer collaboration. After working with the avant-garde Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons on a dark line of men's and womenswear, they've tapped color-loving British designer Matthew Williamson for two collections to debut in stores this spring. "Picking up the pace of its designer collaborations, H&M said Matthew Williamson would create a women’s collection for April 23 delivery, followed by another range for women and men in mid-May. An H&M spokeswoman said the 'exclusive' women’s range would be carried in about 200 stores, with the second delivery slated for all of its 1,700 stores." Will the first release be tied to the unveiling of his MePa boutique—his first-ever US store? Wouldn't be a bad idea. [WWD, subscription req; Previously]
