Gargyle, before it undergoes its Black Friday transformation
LOWER EAST SIDE—Black Friday is obviously going to be weird this year because everything is already on sale. Gargyle's Black Friday Three Day Gift Shop, however, seems promising. The LES boutique is turning itself into a present-buying waystation, with men's and women's clothing from Acne, Fred Perry, and others for 70% off, free giftwrapping, and free food. You probably won't find anything for your dad there, say, or any grandparents, but at least you'll get the easier gift-buying out of the way. Friday and Saturday the store, at 16A Orchard Street between Canal and Hester, will be open 10am—7pm; Sunday it will be open 12pm—6pm. [Racked Inbox]
MIDTOWN EAST—For a totally different Black Friday experience, head to the 59th Street Bloomingdales, where the Burke in the Box café will give you a free glass of red or white wine if you present a receipt from the store. We had a really beautiful vision of wandering around the store drinking at our leisure, but it turns out you have to consume the wine in the café. Still: Free! [Racked Inbox]
