EAST VILLAGE—Um, can you handle another sale right now? If you're not completely overwhelmed by the overload of markdowns, the owners of popular Village shops Odin and Pas de Deux have turned Den, their concept boutique at 330 East 11th Street, into a temporary outlet. Pipeline is breathless over it: "This is very much sample sale season with Black Friday quickly approaching and the economy in the gutter, but these deals are particularly enticing. Expect must haves from Rag & Bone, Trovata, Robert Geller, Obedient Sons, Karen Walker and more at, 'somebody pinch me, is this really happening?' prices." [Pipeline]
NATIONAL—We've just received further proof that California label Mike & Chris is indeed going through some hard times (as if that horrible note on their NYC showroom door wasn't enough). A Racked tipster has forwarded on an update sent out by the brand's LA showroom, which reads in part: "Over the past two weeks, the company has been restructuring. We apologize if we haven't been as responsive during this transition. This transition caused further holiday production delays, so the company was forced to cancel 9/30-10/15x and 10/30-11/15x. We know these cancellations affect your business as well and we sincerely apologize about the inconvenience this may cause. All deliveries going forward will be produced on time...Mike and Chris is making a formal announcement about our new developments soon, but in the mean time we want to assure you Mike and Chris is better than ever. Thank you for your continued support." Wonder what they'll say in the formal announcement. [RackedWire]
