CARROLL GARDENS—This Sunday, November 16, from 11am to 7pm, the Brooklyn Indie Market at Smith and Union Streets will showcase local articans through designers union the {NewNew}. Twenty different booths will do their best to recreate Etsy off the Internet, selling handmade jewelry, soaps, clothing, art, and other goods. [Racked Inbox]
WILLIAMSBURG—Starting this weekend and lasting through April, Buffalo Exchange will collect donations of fur coats for the Humane Society's Coats for Cubs program. The idea behind the fur drive is not only brilliant but also sort of adorable: The coats go to injured or orphaned animals who could use a nice mink or sable as a mother-substitute. You can bring old furs to the Buffalo Exchange at 504 Driggs Avenue in Williamsburg beginning Saturday, or wait till November 22 and drop them by the new one coming in at 332 E. 11th Street in the East Village.
