Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

American Apparel is, aside from Goodwill, one of the only retail chains doing well these days. So it makes sense that Dov Charney isn't letting up on his expansion plans even though the economy is in the toilet. His latest acquisition is 205 Bleecker Street at Sixth Avenue, which is currently home to the Banana Republic Monogram concept store (which will be vacating the space within the next two months). Guess it's time to update the map!
