Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
As the empty retail spaces along Washington Street in the Meatpacking District continue to fill up in anticipation of The Standard Hotel's opening, we'll be getting more and more international labels seeking to call the area home. The newest arrival Zadig & Voltaire, purveyors of French luxury clothing, will be opening at 831 Washington Street, in the raw space where Earnest Sewn used to hold their sample sales.
In terms of pricing and style, Zadig is like a luxury version of Soho newcomer Eryn Brinie, since they both focus on turning the dreamy, romantic French aesthetic into comfortably fashionable (and semi-affordable) clothing.
Zadig is sure to cause excitement in anyone who has studied abroad in Paris and also any recent French transplants to New York, as they are hiring and welcoming Gallic resumes (or should we say CVs). Check after the jump for all the info on getting your foot in their French doors.
