When we suggested that bloggers start dissecting Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain's hair along with their skirt suits and shift dresses, we were joking. But writer Patricia Williams sure isn't with a 1,200 word essay on Michelle's style, a good chunk of which is devoted to her "optimistically upturned flip." Williams really, really likes it. "Between the Scylla of Condoleezza Rice's good-little-girl page-boy, and the Charybdis of Angela Davis's 1960's Afro, Michelle Obama’s looser style provides a breezy, refreshing kind of Golden Mean."
