Unfortunately named hair salon Pimps & Pinups has opened at 103 Stanton and Ludlow on the Lower East Side. This, combined with the move in of Yumi Kim, means a lot of turnover for that intersection in the last few weeks. A tipster, who passed along this cameraphone shot of the spot buzzing last night, writes: "Walked by the corner of Stanton and Ludlow around 7:30pm to find Pimps and Pinups open for business. The space looks gorgeous—sleek and dark. They probably could do a decent cocktail business here." Or a decent late-night, I'm-going-to-regret-this-extreme-haircut business.
