A tipster sends photo evidence of the latest development in the sad tale of West Village gourmet grocer Jefferson Market: they had to shutter "unexpectedly" because Con Ed has "shut [their] lights off." Because they couldn't pay their electricity bills, perhaps? These things don't just happen. They insist that they will be reopening within the month, and we believe them: that double-underline is convincing.
