Given that fans of hardcore band Fucked Up had already packed the Rogan store on the Bowery at 2:30 yesterday afternoon, it seemed likely that the place would be a madhouse by the evening. Our special correspondent checked in around dinnertime and found crowds, a Will Ferrell movie, and no merch. His report:
It was small and packed (obvs), and they were doing one-in one-out on the line. But people were very in and out, so the line actually went quick when I was there. The room was very wisely cleared of all merch, and the room was all blacked out except for Fucked Up and Rhapsody logo placement. This really had nothing to do with Rogan whatsoever. For some reason, a projection screen was showing Step Brothers on mute. When I was there Fucked Up was taking a break and Brooklyn's own Vivian Girls were playing. Things you usually don't see at Rogan: Colt 45 and guys in NASCAR T-shirts (note: not ironic). There were some Bowery "characters" there for the free Colt 45.The show then went on for roughly another seven hours.
