The wait for Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto's Meatpacking shop may soon be over. The exterior of his oddly-shaped storefront at One Gansevoort Street was getting the finishing touches when we walked by today, and a call to their press office puts the date for full reveal at January 25th. Yamamoto's determined to make a splash in Manhattan, though, by opening yet another store on the same day. A boutique dedicated to his Y-3 sportswear collaboration with Adidas is also opening on the 25th, right across the street from his Gansevoort store. Will Yamamoto's newest, most-casual line Coming Soon get its own retail space? Stay tuned...

One more thing: Are those boxing gloves in the window of Yohji's store? Or is he sharing the building with a gym? Answers, if you have them, in the comments.
