The interior of Bombay Company at 900 Broadway and 20th Street via TrespassersWill, 01/21/2008
When the news that Bombay Company would be shuttering all their stateside stores broke in October, many longtime patrons were shocked. Though there were rumblings that quality had been on the decline for some time, many shoppers still considered the chain a solid choice for home furnishings. We've seen quite a few companies handle their bankruptcy really poorly, but Bombay Company appears to have kept it relatively classy 'til the end. The message on their website now reads: "The Bombay Company is discontinuing operations and all stores are closed as of January 21, 2008. We would like to thank you, our loyal customers, for your business over the past years."
