Adidas Originals Stripped Bare in Soho

Shoppers who journeyed to the Adidas Originals store at 136 Wooster Street between Houston and Prince Streets this past weekend were in for a surprise: the place was completely empty and looked closed. One reader wrote in asking: "Any word on whether or not this store is gone for good? I went by yesterday & the space had been cleared out." A call to the Adidas Sports Performance Store on Broadway and Houston revealed that much of the Orginals merch had been moved there (check for it on the second floor) and that the company does intend to reopen the Wooster outpost. The reopening date for Adidas Originals, which is undergoing some sort of revamp/renovation, has not yet been revealed, though the sign we spotted flapping in the wind out front on Sunday put it vaguely at February.
