Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If Racked sources are correct, the gigantic H&M flagship on 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue may soon be facing some stiff competition. Fast-fashion retailer Zara is said to be sniffing out space right across the street. The area's home to a few other stores on steroids, like an enormous, three-story BCBG and big-box retailers Best Buy and Circuit City. It's all the inexpensive trendwear and electronics you'd ever need, within four short city blocks!
