LONG ISLAND CITY—A new Rockrose tenant is wondering when he'll be able to shop locally for groceries: "I saw your post about the Amish Market opening in February in LIC at EastCoast 2, but I just moved into one of the Rockrose buildings, and I can honestly tell you it would be a miracle if it did. There's a whole bunch of unfinished concrete floor with barebones lightning out there...no signs of any construction at this point - do you know anything new?" We haven't heard anything, but as always, the tipline's open. [RackedWire Inbox]
FORT GREENE—Word on the CutletsWire is that legendary bakery Cake Man Raven has been DOH'd. Writer Pervaiz Shallwani reports: "According to the Cake Man (a.k.a. Raven Patrick De'Sean Dennis III), an inspector showed up Wednesday afternoon and shut down the cake shop that evening for not having the proper permits...State investigators were on site this afternoon, but for now it's unclear when the storefront will reopen. According to a somber Cake Man, there are cakes inside, but the city department has put an embargo on them until further notice." And the sweet of tooth mourned. [Cutlets]
