According to rumors aired on this very site, some haughty Bleecker Street retailers did not take kindly to the news that designer and friend-of-Oprah Tommy Hilfiger had bought out Kree Salon at no. 375 so that he could stuff the space with his Hilfiger gear. But wait! This won't be just any Tommy store, yo. This one's for the ladieez. Per WWD:
Tommy Hilfiger will unveil a new retail concept at 375 Bleecker Street in New York later this month, his first collection store devoted to women. To complement the women's line, designer vintage pieces will be layered on. The decor of the store, which will occupy the former Robert Kree salon, will change with the seasons to reflect each new collection. Hilfiger hasn't opened a store in New York since November 2001, although the Bleecker Street store will be the designer's third full-priced unit in the U.S.Sounds fancy. We're sure it'll be a great addition to the strip!
