Ten years ago, the idea of cooking for your dog or cat might have seemed ludicrous to most pet owners. The tainted-pet-food recalls of the past year changed things, though. That's why we were pleased to read a simple, inexpensive recipe for dog food in this week's Time Out New York involving elbow pasta, ground chicken, frozen vegetables and chickpeas. All that slaving over a hot stove could even help your canine live longer. Is it just a matter of time until ICE offers a pet chef course?
