MIDTOWN WEST—Soon, you may be able to knock some pins down in Midtown without passing through that pit known as the Port Authority. Yes, we have the exciting news that a competitor to Leisure Time Bowl has just surfaced. A tipster writes: "I live at 1 River Place, that rental tower on the far west end of 42nd Street. There is a huge retail space at the base of the building that has remained vacant since the building was built; rumors were that it was originally to be a supermarket but that never panned out. I think they may have finally found a tenant -- walking past the empty space I noticed a public notice in the window regarding a request for an on premise liquor license by one Lucky Strike Entertainment. A quick Google search shows that they own and operate bowling alleys across the country." This story is, of course, developing, but you may want to start perfecting your throw now. [RackedWire Inbox]
