Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Unlike other developments along the Bowery, the upcoming Blue & Cream store at 299 Bowery in the Avalon Chrystie cluster hasn’t made much progress. The high-end Hamptons boutique, which sells clothing and accessories from a variety of well-known and indie labels such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Siwy, and aNYthing, is scheduled to open the first week of October. However, the property management verified that the Blue & Cream crew are only at “the beginning stages of their construction” and estimated it’d be 6-8 weeks before it opens, at best. The B&C staff in the Hamptons acknowledged that construction was delayed, but they’re still aiming to open the first week of October. Either way, they assured us, there will be a party to celebrate its arrival. We don’t doubt that part.
