Now Open: Earnest Sewn on the Lower East Side

[Earnest Sewn at Orchard and Broome Streets, 10:32am this morning]

Above, the scene this morning inside the new Earnest Sewn store, as workers scurried to ready the place for its 12pm opening today. As reported last month, the store is the second in the city for the expensive denim purveyor; this one, at 90 Orchard Street (at Broome), seems to be about roughly the same size, and serves up a similar design aesthetic. But whereas the first Earnest Sewn merely joined the retail parade in the Meatpacking District, this opening has a larger neighborhood import: by splashing out in the larger corner space formerly occupied by the gift shop for the Tenement Museum, Earnest Sewn is hereby declaring BelDel open and ready for business.
