Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
In case you forgot, there's a ginormous 25,000-square-foot H&M readying to open at 505 Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. A Racked tipster, who sent us this image yesterday, said that there was still a lot of scaffolding inside, and, as you can see, they haven't even finished putting up that poster in the window. Sadly, it's going to be a while till this one opens its doors. Construction on the Forever 21 coming to Broadway between Houston and Spring Streets in Soho seems to be moving faster, as the interior looked close to being done when we walked by the space a few days ago. So now, tourists can buy designer knockoffs from a chain store, instead of a street vendor. Sweet, sweet progress.
