Rackage: The Beer Room At Bowery Whole Foods

Rackage is a look inside recently-opened stores around town. Today, we take in the brews at Bowery Whole Foods' new Beer Room.

Whole Foods' new Beer Room hasn't received a ton of press yet, so it was understandable that the scene at the shop this weekend was pretty quiet. The airy 1,600-square-foot store sits adjacent to Whole Foods on Chrystie Street and Houston. The most notable feature about the Beer Room is that shoppers now have the option of toting their beer home in growlers, reusable half-gallon glass containers, in addition to standard bottles and cans. Growlers are free during the Beer Room's opening week (through Saturday), afterward each container will be $3. The excellent beers currently on tap include Brooklyn Brewery's Blanche de Brooklyn, Kelso's Hop Lager, Ommegang's Ommegeddon and Blue Point's No Apologies Double IPA.

Shelves upon shelves of beer—delicious, delicious beer.

A how-to list. As you can see, it's pretty simple.
