Mercer's New Girls Club: Tam and Wang Set Up Shop On The Same Stretch in Soho

Now that we've exposed the Wang going in at 158 Mercer, let's walk a few blocks south to Vivienne Tam's soon-to-open shop in Andre Balazs' and Jean Nouvel's fancy-shmantzy 40 Mercer. A shot of the exterior, taken today by a dedicated Racked source, is above, and a peek at the interior lies just after the jump.

Appears to be a bit rough around the edges, no? Certainly not as far along as Vera. One wonders which lady got the better deal here—Wang's space isn't as grand or as beautiful as Tam's, but it does lie in an area with higher foot traffic. Maybe bigger isn't always better?
