NATIONAL—Great news for fans of handbag and shoe line Loeffler Randall: Today, it was revealed that Target has tapped designer Jessie Randall to create an affordable accessories collection for the mass retailer. It's slated to debut in stores in "early 2008." [FWD]
EAST VILLAGE—A Racked source writes, "Just wanted to let you know that St Marks is going to get that bastion of downtown lameness David Z in that old used CD store on the North Side of the Street. Pinkberry and David Z, the only thing that could be better is a pizza hut/taco bell/kfc all in one." [RackedWire Inbox]
WEST VILLAGE—There's more movement afoot on ever-evolving Bleecker Street. A tipster writes: "...yikes! On the block of bleecker between charles and perry, between the existing bruno cucinello store and the ex-robert kree salon, there is a street level apartment whose two windows on the street are ‘shuttered’ with bits of plywood on the inside of the double hung windows. The bruno cucinello store was carved out of a rental apartment building, what was once a studio apartment (but what must have started life, a hundred years ago, as a street-level storefront). Could it be that another rental apartment will be giving way to a retail space? Banana Republic already has a presence on bleecker (tho farther east), who could need to plant there flag on that street? Is some version of what’s left of the limited about to appear? Or...marc jacobs home?" [RackedWire Inbox]
