NATIONAL—Apparently, Kohl's has been declining opportunities to talk to the media about Vera Wang's soon-to-launch collection for the mass retailerCNBC is attributing this to Kohl's nervousness about how the line, which is slated to hit stores September 9th, will perform. Also interesting to note: Kohl's employees don't seem to be too excited about Simply Vera, which isn't a great sign. We're still looking forward to it, though. [CNBC]

MIDTOWN EAST—In response to yesterday's 'Wire post about the shuttering of Malia Mills in midtown, one of the store's reps commented: "Just to let you know the Malia Mills store on Madison was an 18 month pop-up store based on a short term lease because the owner is building a tower and would only give us a short term lease. Please come to the Sample Sale and also visit our three other stores in New York City and Connecticut! Thanks!" The sale ends this Thursday. [Racked Staff]
