Just when we thought it might be safe to venture south of Houston, a tipster sends this note: "Crocs coming to 143 Spring Street. Heard it is a 20-year lease." And though this isn't exactly news—we first heard of the rubbery shoewear company's plans to infiltrate Manhattan over a year ago (they're also planning a UWS store)—as the opening draws near, our concern for the Soho retail scene rises. The Crocs shop will be located directly across the street from Chanel.
