LOWER EAST SIDE—Remember Pong, the pop-up ping-pong parlor that opened a few months back at 139 Norfolk Street? Well, they're hosting a season-ending "LES Cup" this Friday at 7pm in the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center at 107 Suffolk Street. From a hot-off-the-wire email we received about the event: "The 8 top-ranked players from the PONG club ladder will battle it out to discover the true Lower East Side table tennis champion...Marty Reisman, 78 years old, will be making a triumphant return to his old neighborhood to reclaim his title as America's Greatest Champion and Hustler. Marty is a 5 time U.S. Champion and winner of 23 National and International titles." There will be plenty of seating and a full bar; tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at Pong, yada yada yada (it's all covered on the flier, above). [RackedWire]
