WEST VILLAGE—Concerning the rumored shuttering of Robert Kree salon at 375 Bleecker Street, a special Racked correspondent sent us a note confirming the closure, "Robert Kree on Bleecker will be open until August 4th, 2007. Spoke to them earlier re another matter. Then I think most of them will be heading to Chris Chase Salon." We called the salon as well, and were told the same thing. LOWER EAST SIDE—The odd Brazilian store Renato Vasconcelos at 166 Orchard Street between Stanton and Rivington Streets is up for sale. A tipster sends the following business for sale post on Craigslist: "Newly renovated Brazilian fashion and accessories store on Orchard St @ Stanton St. 500 sq ft of selling area w/ large front windows, hard wood floor, commercial heating/ac unit and bathroom. Set up for mini-salon in back including hair sink, chair and mirrors. Also includes secure 400 sq ft lower level office and storage area. Fully stocked with six years remaining on low lease." All that can be yours for a mere $265,000. We're surprised the place managed to hold on for as long as it did, considering the fact that we've never actually witnessed anyone shopping in there.
