CHELSEA—Rumor has it that the space which for 63 years housed fishing gear store Capitol Fishing Tackle (located on the ground floor of the Chelsea Hotel) will become a bank. Since the probability of a bank opening in an empty retail space anywhere within the five boroughs is pretty high, let's just consider it as good as confirmed. [Living With Legends]
MIDTOWN EAST— Super-duper high-end retailer Takashimaya has decorated its new children's boutique space with a tree-root chandelier. The plantage hangs from the ceiling, provoking awe and, we'd guess, some fear, in the well-off and their charges. [TONY]
