On sweltering, hazy days, you can always find relief from the heat in the freezer aisle at your local Key Foods or in the air-conditioned halls of a mall, but we prefer visiting plant shops. There's something about being surrounded by greenery that's so immediately relaxing and transporting. So what better time than the present to visit Sprout Home, Williamsburg's new gardening mecca? The Chicago-based store's first New York outpost carries a variety of flora, including bamboo, potted flowers, rare ornamental trees and organic herbs as well as a selection of quirky and charming home furnishings.
