FOREST HILLS/REGO PARK—Unlike the Whole Foods slated for Gowanus, construction of which seems to have ground to a halt, the Trader Joe's going up in Queens is really coming along. An update on the progress, from a commenter: "I walked past the site today (Sunday) and there were guys working, installing shelves and coolers and the like. They painted the parking lines yesterday, and Staples looks to open any day." [Racked Staff]
NEW YORK CITY—The market for any sort of "green" or "sustainable" products or services is booming. One of the newest companies riding the trend is dvGreen, an eco-friendly party planning service. They promise to help you throw low-impact, organic-filled weddings, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs, corporate celebrations and non-profit fundraisers. Though dvGreen might be just another example of an entrepreneur jumping on the earth-friendly bandwagon, we have to say that the whole concept is kind of genius. [Racked Inbox]
