Will someone from Trader Joe's please step forward to tell Brooklynites whether or not they'll be seeing an outpost of the chain in their borough in the near future? The Brooklyn Eagle stated the development as fact yesterday, but today a piece in the Sun makes us wonder if the Eagle didn't jump the gun a bit. The article is disturbingly titled "Trader Joe's May Open In Brooklyn" [emphasis ours]. The Sun has not been able to receive confirmation from either the people of TJ's or the folks at Two Trees Management, the company that owns the property in question (the old Independence Bank building at 130 Court Street at Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill). Does anyone know what's going on? Writers at the Eagle: Please, please don't build us up only to let us down.
