1) Midtown East: From an informative midtown-based tipster, we learn that French luxury linen shop D. Porthault is opening soon at 470 Park Avenue and 58th Street. "On park on 58th where that sort of odd rene mancini store use to be? Small flyer says porthault will be opening 7/17. A possible new napping destination for all us banking drones on park around here? Don’t I wish. May be needed as Sherry Lehman sent email that its closing in two weeks for its big move to 59th and park too. There may not be any good place to eat lunch in my work nabe, but drinking and passing out comfortably? I think I’m set." The store is relocating from it's current home at 18 East 69th Street. 2) Park Slope: Gourmet food mart Union Market is coming to Seventh Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets in Park Slope. Good news for local residents who need more grocery options; bad news for other, similar local businesses like Russo's and Grab. [The Brooklyn Paper]
3) Williamsburg: Get excited, Brooklynites: A.P.C.'s excellent, chic basics for men and women will soon be available at lower prices in Williamsburg. The company is opening an A.P.C. Surplus shop, where they'll stock discounted past-season clothing as well as full-price current-season denim. [The Shophound]
4) Tribeca: Parents now have a place to slim up their embarrassingly fat kids. Play Garden, a gym for the underage set, is coming to 95 Franklin Street. [The Real Estate]
