Nonstop iPhrenzy began yesterday, when we wrote kiddingly that Monday'd be the day that people should/would start lining up for an iphone. Exceeding all our expectations, yesterday was indeed the first day that people began their wait outside of the Apple store on Fifth Avenue. Gizmodo has an interview of sorts with the first man in line, an unemployed, girlfriendless character. Downtown, people are a bit more reasonable...and charitable. The Happy Corp. reports that the first in line at Apple Soho (he got there this morning) is marketing agency guru Johnny Vulkan, who's going to auction his hard won iPhone off on Ebay, then donate the money to the charity Keep A Child Alive. Who knew something so good could come of geekish mass hysteria?
