If you read a lot of shopping blogs, you might, might have heard of the Anya Hindmarch "I'm Not A Plastic Bag" tote. The $15 cotton shopper, which was created by the designer to publicize the earth-friendly message of reusing bags, instead of simply taking plastic ones every time you buy something, has sparked an international frenzy. The bags go on sale today; a Racked tipster reports from the scene outside of one of the Anya Hindmarch stores this morning: "7:35ish AM and the line outside anya hindmarch?was at least 20 people long. This would be for the I am not plastic tol?er?bag. I can say that. I pre-ordered. 2. that was all they let me have." Not sure which store our tipster is referring to, but the 29 East 60th Street location opens at 10am and the 115 Greene Street location opens at 11am. If nothing else, this type of response really demonstrates that New Yorkers care about the environment.
