More info about the shuttering of LES institution Gertel's, the news of which we broke yesterday, continues to pour in. As reported, the storefront is closing but the wholesale business will remain open—although the bakery's owners are moving operations from 53 Hester Street to Steuben Street in Williamsburg. If you'd like to purchase items wholesale, you can put in an order (212-982-3250) and they'll deliver, but the minimum purchase is $25. Planning on stopping by the bakery this week? Via KosherAdvantage, here are their hours: Tuesday through Thursday 6:30am to 5:30pm, Fri 6:30am to 3pm [ed. note: they might be closing earlier this Friday, we'd advise calling before stopping by].
