Yes, it's time again for a little thing called Mo' Banks, in which we profile new checking and saving spots around town. If you've spotted another bank opening, let us know.
1) Park Slope: A few weeks ago, a reader mentioned a Chase Bank coming to Fifth Avenue, stating that there was a "drawing taped to the wall [with] a big Chase Bank logo." Well, the proof that Chase is indeed opening an outpost on Fifth is above. Says a tipster, who sent over the photo, "Seems like construction is proceeding at a good clip." [Racked Inbox]
2) Midtown East: Banks opening their own coffee shops? What's next? A tipster sends us this note from midtown about the ING Direct cafe on 49th Street between Madison and Park Aves. "Not sure if this is news or not [ed. note: we think it's been around for a while, but has anyone covered it?], but ING has it's own coffee shop. I went in an it was pretty cool. 2 sizes of coffee (all Peet's brand) and they both cost the same amount. So it was $1.50 for a 20z ice coffee or a 24oz one. I'm pretty sure Starbucks cost like a dollar more. There's some seating on a upper level and lots of freebies (stress balls, keychains) and merchandise. They also have a different deal each day, so like you get a free drink if you wear orange on a friday, and free espresso shot on wednesday." If anyone in midtown's wearing an orange-hued item of clothing (doubtful, though possible), today's your lucky day! [Racked Inbox]
