It's time again for a little thing called Mo' Banks, in which we profile new cash centers around town. If you've spotted another bank opening, let us know.
1) Forest Hills: First Central Savings Bank, which already has outposts in Sunnyside, Astoria, Ridgewood and Flushing, will soon rise in the former Cold Stone Creamery space in Forest Hills. Blogger Forest Hills 72 isn't too impressed with the company's signage, though: "The bank is "Proud" and "Privileged" to become part of our neighborhood. But not so much as to spend the $25 to personalize the sign to Forest Hills." [Forest Hills 72]
2) Downtown Brooklyn: Buried deep in a Sun article about how Downtown Brooklyn is booming is the news that Marathon Bank has leased a 2,200-square-foot space at 399 Atlantic Avenue and Bond Streets. If we're not mistaken, it's already open for business. [NY Sun]
